Several years back then, diving as a marine sport or hobby was not known to many in Moalboal.  However, divers in the Moalboal waters spread the good news that Moalboal really is a good and in fact one of the best diving destinations in the country in general and in the province of Cebu in particular.  The good news spread far and wide that Moalboal is a real diving capital.  These magnificent corals paved and brought Moalboal to the limelight & much more to the global arena.  The simple nipa huts that  sprouted within the beach areas had metarmorphosed into elegants, gallant, plush beach resorts, resto bars, diving shops and souvenir shops.  Tourists both foreign & national had tremendously increased.  Economy had flourished.
